Fannie Mae Green Cokley the eldest of the four children of the late Mother Rola Mae and Bishop Lun Green, began her life journey on September 1, 1936, and was called into eternal rest on Thursday, July 30, 2015 at Trident Medical Center in Charleston. South Carolina, after a brief illness. (Her only brother, Lun Clay Green Jr. preceded her in death in 1994.) She was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County.

She was joined in marriage to Fred Cokley Jr. in 1953, who also
preceded her in death. This union was blessed with 5 beautiful
and devoted children, however, her only son William "Bill" Cokley, was called home to be with the Lord in 2013.

She joined Bethel # 1 Holiness Church, under the leadership of
her father at an early age and remained a faithful member until
her death. She was loved by everyone that knew her and all would agree that she was a very independent and hard working woman. Her passion included caring for the sick and shut in, cooking, baking and gardening. She was a compassionate and loving daughter, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. Her contributions, her thoughtfulness and her generosity to the Reevesville Community will always be remembered in the hearts of many, young and old.

She is survived by five daughters: Mrs. Barbary Berry, Summerville, SC; Mrs. Linda (John) Sims, Lithonia, Georgia; Mrs. Peggy Fogle, Reevesville, SC; Mrs. Catherine (Curtis) Shilow, St. George,
SC; and Mrs. Elaine (Timothy) McColl, Washington. DC. Two sisters, Mrs. Patricia Duggins, Reevesville, SC, and Ms. Joyce Green, Mt. Pleasant, SC. Two sisters-in-law, Rosa Mack, Mims, Fla. and Mrs. Shirley (Jerry) Lewis, Reevesville, SC. Two brothers-in-law,Mr. Douglas (Ann) Cokley, Brooklyn. NY and Mr. Louis (Rosetta) Cokley, Reevesville, SC. Three aunts, Mrs. Francis Mason, her second mother, Branchville, SC, Mrs. Earnestine Lewis and Mrs. Onell Green, both of Reevesville, SC. Eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
