Ethel Mae Washington was born to the late Mr. & Mrs. Earnest (Roberta) Mack in Bowman, South Carolina on August 24, 1947.  She transitioned into eternal rest on December 8, 2023.

Ethel was educated in the public schools in Bowman, SC and she graduated in 1966 from Bowman High School.  Ethel was a retired social worker of Dorchester County DSS.  After retiring she became a caregiver, a job she truly loved.  She enjoyed cooking for family and friends, baking cakes was her favorite thing to do.

Ethel also enjoyed cleaning, making sure her yard was ALWAYS well kept and going to church.  She was a woman of God who would give her last to anyone.  She truly had a heart of gold.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Earnest Mack, Sr., and Mrs. Roberta Mack; son, William Hezekiah; sisters, Marie Houser, and Evelyn Riley; brother, Norrell Mack.

Ethel leaves to cherish loving memories her two children, Kevin (Melanie) Hezekiah of Jersey City, NJ and Craig Hezekiah of St. George, SC; step son, Larry J. Washington of Eutawville, SC; two grandchildren, Stavia (Shakemp) Williams of Cottageville, SC and K'sawn Hezekiah of Jersey City, NJ; four great grandchildren, Ava Miller, Khamani Williams, Khalani Williams and Oshen Williams; six siblings, Wanda Void of St. George, SC, May Mack of Jersey City, NJ, Bennie (Debra) Mack of Stone Mountain, GA, Earnest (Colleen) Mack, Jr. of Covington, GA, Al-cee (Niecy) Mack of Jersey City, NJ, Alfred (Pauline) Mack of Orangeburg, SC, Keith Mack of Pennsylvania, and John Mack of St. George, SC; brother-in-law, Paul Washington of Holly Hill, SC; like a son, Theodore Howard of Charleston, SC; a host of special nieces, nephews and friends.
