Mr. Ervin Leroy Lary, was born April 23, 1945 in Dorchester, South Carolina.  He was the fifth of seven siblings of the late Wilton J. and Mattie Ross Lary.  He was called form labor to reward by his Heavenly Father on Friday, June 29, 2018 at the Presbyterian Hospital in Manhattan, New York after an extended illness.

Ervin was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County.  After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army for two years and spent one year in the United States Army Reserve.  He later settled in Manhattan, New York where he met and married Wilhelmena Middleton.  To this union five children were born.

Ervin accepted Christ in his life at an early age.  He was a former member of St. Daniel UM Church in Harleyville, South Carolina.  During his time in New York his immediate church closed and he then attended several other churches in the area.  He was employed with Morton Chemical Company until his retirement.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Ernest B. Lary, one sister-in-law, Jeanette Lary, thirteen uncles and thirteen aunts.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories, his wife, Wilhelmena Lary; three sons, Leon Lary of Yonkers, NY, Christopher lary of Pallisade, NJ and Malke Lary of the home; two daughters, Annette Lary and Shanta Lary of the home; two granddaughters and one grandson; three brothers, Joseph (Bessie Bell) Lary, Henry D. Lary, Sr., and Clarence (Lorane) Lary; two sisters, Bernice (James) Blair and Mary L. Lary; three sisters-in-law, Jeddy (Luther) Davis, Claira Mae Johnson and Edna Lary; a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.
