Ernest Lee
Cummings
Aug 28, 1962 — Apr 23, 2019
Saint George
Mr. Ernest Lee Cummings, the son of the late Ernest Cummings and the Thelma Glover Cummings, was August 28, 1962 in St. George, SC. He departed this life for a place of eternal rest on Tuesday, April 23, 2019, at the East Cooper Medical in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
Ernest Lee (affectionately known as "Buck/Buckwheat") attended the public schools of Dorchester County. He was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church.
Buck was employed with Louis Rivers "Big Lou" for approximately 15 years, which was a clear indication that he truly enjoyed his employment. He worked in construction with Starkes and Son for many years, and was also employed by Michael Mainer Construction. He was dedicated to all his employers and always spoke very favorable of them.
Buck's main hobby was playing pool and he totally enjoyed playing; but the most important time was the time he spent with family, as well as friends who he loved dearly. He will be sorely missed from our family and our community.
Buck was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Thelma Cummings; and a brother, John Glover.
Buck leaves loving memories that will be cherished forever as his family celebrates his life: one daughter, Myeshia L. Neals of Bowman, SC; four sisters, Loretta (Rogers) Glover of Bowman, SC, Dorene (Gerald) Cummings of St. George, SC, Ernestine C. Peden of Summerville, SC and Patricia Carn of Reevesville, SC; five brothers, McCoy Glover, Floyd Cummings and Eugene Barnwell all of St. George, SC, Arthur (Inga) Cummings and Tony (Valerie) Glover both of Reevesville, SC; two grandchildren, My'rell Alston and Char'lysia Lewis; eleven aunts, Avon King and Martha C. Glover both of MD, Lois Lemon, Maggie Glover, and Dora L. Cummings all of St. George, SC, Alma (Roosevelt) Matthews, Minnie Lee (Margin) Breaker, Nellie R. Glover, and Bernell Cummings all of Bowman, SC, Annie Mae (Garven) Hadden and Genevieve Cummings both of Jersey City, NJ; five uncles, Mack Cummings, Howard Lee (Gertrude) Glover, Willie C. (Lois) Glover, Virgil Lee (Rosa Mae) Glover all of St. George, SC and James W. Glover of Clearwater, FL; special friends, Louis Rivers "Big Lou", Toshirro Davis, Daniel Starkes, James Goodwin "Monk", Kimreshia Glover and Daisy Neals. He is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
