Ella Jeanette Smiley was born May 23, 1949 in St. George, SC to the late Annie Senior Clark and the late Willie Clark. She was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County.
She was joined in holy matrimony to the late Julius Smiley, Sr.
She was a faithful member of the House of God Grover until her death.
Jeanette enjoyed singing, spending time with her family and cleaning her home. She had a very wittiness about her. She would make you laugh all day. She was full of wisdom and knowledge and a very good memory to match.
She had a love and passion for raising children, and taking care of the elderly. In her early years, she helped raised so many loving children that grew up to love and respect her as their family. They are considered as her extended family which includes: The Weeks Family, The Steward Westbury Family, The Judy Family and Mrs. Evelyn.
Jeanette had three sisters to precede her in death: Sally Ann Clark, Annie Lee Bryant and Joyce Duggins; five brothers, Willie Clark, Haskell Clark, Clarence Clark, Ricky Clark and Primrose Clark.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: two sons, Julius Smiley, Jr. and Tedrick D. (Felica) Smiley; one loving sister, Nancy Jo Williams (Alma); one adopted sister, Diane Washington; four sisters-in-law, Geraldine Brooks, Stella Shaw, Geneva Smiley and Lillie Mae Clark a loving and devoted sister-in-law; four grandchildren, Tajon Smiley, Damari Smiley, Tedric D. Smiley, Jr. and Julius Anthony (Trelene) Stevens; four great grandchildren, Jada Simmons, Julius Stevens, Jr., Ivan Smalls and Kania Stevens; special devoted nieces/caregivers, Debbie Breaker, Tammy Harrison, Lala Clark, Peggy Clark, Libby Smith and Delphine Clark; special friend, Shirley Johnson; devoted transportation driver, Tiffanie Fenley Brown; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
