On Saturday morning, January 9, 2010, the Angel of Death visited 174 Neighborhood Drive, Saint George, SC (Elaine's home) and very gently beckoned the soul of our beloved Mother, Sister, and Friend, Elaine Ravenell to its eternal home.

Elaine was born in Dorchester County on December 26, 1949 to the late Mrs. Martha Fairclough and Palmer Goodwin. Elaine has been a member of the Saint Mark United Methodist Church all of her life and worked for over 30 years as a cook.

Elaine is a 1968 graduate of Williams Memorial School in Saint George. Later that year, she married the late Alex Ravenell from Saint George, SC.

She leaves to mourn her passing and to cherish her memory: her paternal mother, Carrie Mae Goodwin of Saint George, SC; her maternal father, Palmer Goodwin and step mother, Doris Goodwin of Fort Lauderdale, FL; children, James Ravenell, Kisha Berry, and Christopher Williams of Reevesville, Eric Ravenell of Saint George, SC, and Jacquetta Hamilton of Mims, Florida, Mattie Mays and Thomas Washington of Saint George, SC; grandchildren, Dirondi Johnson of Reevesville, Josian Ravenell, Benjamin and Joshua Mays, and Shaquille Davis of Saint George, SC, Marquise, Marquia, and Marion Hamilton of Mims, FL; Sisters and Brothers; Gladys Brown of Orangeburg, SC, Lottie Mae Brown of Saint George, SC and, Betty (Donald) Bryant of Mims, FL, Sylvia Perez of Mims, FL, Tommy Goodwin of Daytona Beach, FL, Lily (Kie) Summers of Mims, FL, Rose Fernandez, Lisa Johnson, Dexter Fishmon all of Titusville, FL, Sharon Fairclough of Atlanta, GA, Sammy Fairclough, Jr. of Mims, FL, Clamatine Goodwin of Washington, DC, Jacqueline Goodwin, Andy Goodwin, and Laverne Bernard (Micey) and Palmalla Goodwin of Fort Lauderdale, FL, Vivian Keller and Elenore Keller of St. Matthews, SC; Sister-in-Law, Rosa (Robert) Lemon of Evans, GA and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and her beloved dogs, Guy and Luckie.
