Mr. Edwin Monteze Boyd, Sr. also called "Tez" or "Monty" transitioned into the Heavenly ream on December 22, 2021.

Mr. Edwin Monteze Boyd, Sr. was born December 23, 1976 at MUSC Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina to Edwin Boyd and the late Edna Mae Rhames Boyd.  He grew up on Davis Terrace Community in St. George.  He was a graduate of St. George High School, Class of 1995.  He played football and baseball in high school.  He had a smile that would light up the room, when he entered.  He was loved by everyone that he came in contact with.  At an early age he joined Bethel AME Church.  He was employed by Mercedes Benz as a forklift operator.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Reverend Esau and Cora Lee Rhames, Annie Laura Anderson-Rhames, Elijah and Gracie Boyd.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his father of the home, Mr. Edwin Boyd; one son, Edwin Monteze Boyd, Jr. "MJ" of St. George, SC; one brother, Elder Travis (April) Boyd of St. George, SC; one sister, Kimberley (Garrick) Jones of El Pasco, TX; two nephews, Garrick Edwin Jones and Elijah James Boyd; three nieces, Aumoni Stanton, Aumari Stanton and Aumya Stanton; special aunt and Godmother, Lou Ellen Boyd; aunts, Patty Boyd, Carolyn Rhames, Elizabeth (Andrew) Felder, Joann (Johnnie) Johnson, Jacqueline R. Smalls, and Claireen (Alfred) Singletary; uncles, George (Annie) Felder, Esau (Mary) Rhames, Oliver Wright, Herman Rhames, Alvin Rhames and Kenneth Gaddist; special friend, Monique Simmons; a host of other relatives and friends.
