Edward Williams, affectionately known as "Ed" was born December
2, 1929 in Reesvesville, SC with little education and a lot of determination. He retired four times in his lifetime. He supported his family as a long distance tractor trailer truck driver. He retired from the Teamsters Union. He moved back to his home in South Carolina where he worked driving log trucks and
also, at the State Hospital in Dorchester County. His final retirement was from Dorchester County as an employee of the city .

He was the eldest of four children born to Bertha and Julius Williams (his biological father is Sam Berry). His parents and his four sisters, Beatrice, Bernice, Mernice and Maria, all preceded him. He has a sister Bonnie and brother Marcus Berry by his biological father.

Mr. Williams was a self taught, conscientious man of integrity. He
had to work hard at a very young age to help support his family. He continued this same work ethic when he migrated to New York too seek other opportunities and a better life. His life journey took him on many paths and travels.

He was in the United Masons Brotherhood-Scottish Rite-Chapter
#4. His service in the Highest Order as a International World Mason-33rd Degree; Supreme General Grand Chapter Royal Arch Mason of US and Canada-August Degree. His Mission and goal was to create more chapters throughout the nation.

He would light up any room that he walked into with his handsome
smile, dapper dress and exuding of confidence. He acknowledged everyone and made them feel special by acknowledging them with warmth. He loved his family and never strayed away from Big Ma Ennis White who he called mama on frequent trips to South Carolina. He loved his large family and they spent a lifetime with many social events.

On November 28, 1951, after a courtship with Mattie Louise Pressley who he affectionately.nicknamed "Susie" he took her to be his wife and his companion to the end.. Together they were blessed with nine children.

He grew up and faithfully attended St. Matthew Baptist Church in
Reevesville, SC.

He was faithful to God and served Jerusalem Baptist Church in Jersey City, NJ as a Trustee and a Deacon.
