Born November 2, 1950 in Summerville, SC, Ned was the
eldest of four children born to the late Ned Brownlee, Sr. and
Abbie Lee Lewis Brownlee.
Ned grew up in the Texas Community and attended the public
schools of Dorchester County. In 1967 he joined the Job Corp
and travelled to California where he took up the trade for
brick masonry.
He was a handy man by trade and briefly operated a lawn care
business. He enjoyed hanging out with family and fishing.
Ned joined Bethel Baptist Church several years ago and was
a former member of the Trustee Board. While in the church,
Ned proved to be a faithful and dedicated member.
On September 23, 1992 he married the love of his life, Viola
Tobin Henderson who preceded him in death.
On Monday, August 13, 2012, the earthly life as he knew it
ended.
At the time of his demise, he was survived by brothers, Joseph
and Lucious Brownlee, sister, Virginia Brownlee, all of the
Texas Community; uncle, Amos Lewis of Mims, FL; nieces,
LaKeisha, Najia, Brittany and Canadra; cousins; greatuncle,
John Wesley Lewis of Seville, FL; step-sons, James
and Sheldon Henderson; brothers-in-law, Robert (Dorothy)
Tobin, Alexander (Ann) Tobin, Jeffrey (Keli) Tobin; sisters-inlaw,Pat (Jasper) Gadsden, Gloria (Billy) Adams, Genevieve
(Joe) Johnson and Sharon (Herman) Britt; other relatives and
community friends.
