Mrs. Edna Mae Rhames Boyd transitioned into the Heavenly realm on Thursday May 25, 2017 at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, SC surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Edna Mae Rhames Boyd was born December 9, 1950 in Dorchester County to the late Reverend Esau and Cora Lee Rhames in Dorchester, SC. She was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County. At an early age she joined Elem Missionary Baptist Church. She later joined House of Prayer and Praise Baptist Church where she served faithfully on the usher board until her passing. Mrs. Edna Mae Rhames Boyd was loved by everyone she came in contact with.

She was preceded in death by her parents Reverend Esau and Cora Lee Rhames, four brothers; John Lewis Rhames and Ronald Rhames, Shelton Rhames, and Burman Rhames two sister; Cora Bell Rhames and Arie Bell Wright.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her loving husband of the home Mr. Edwin Boyd, two sons; Montez Boyd, Travis (April) Boyd, St. George, SC; one daughter; Kimberley (Garrick) Jones, Ft. Leonard Wood, MS; Her step-mother, Annie Laura Rhames, Summerville, SC; Five grandchildren; Garrick Edwin Jones, Jr., Elijah James Boyd, Aumoni Staton, Aumari Stanton and Aumya Staton; Five godchildren, Itainya Ling, Antwane Garrett, Alexandria Garrett, Makayla Williams and Kayleb Williams; Six sisters, Patricia (Alonzo) Johnson, Joann (Johnnie) Johnson, Annette (Kenneth) Gaddist, all of Dorchester, SC. Claireen (Alfred) Singletary, Harleyville, SC Elizabeth (Andrew) Felder, St. George, SC and Jacqueline R. Smalls, Summerville, SC; Four brothers, Esau (Mary) Rhames, Jr, Long Island, NY, Joseph Rhames, Rochester, NY, Herman Rhames and Alvin Rhames both of Dorchester, SC; Three sisters-in-law, Carolyn Rhames, Dorchester, SC; Lou Ellen Boyd and Patty Boyd, St. George, SC, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
