Mrs. Earline Gelzer Rorie transitioned into the Heavenly realm on Wednesday September 2, 2026 in her home in Dorchester, SC surrounded by her family and friends.

Mrs. Earline Gelzer Rorie was born October 10, 1934 in Dorchester, SC to the late Deacon Earl and Annie Gelzer. She was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County and then matriculated to Benedict College in Columbia, SC where she earned her degree in Education. At an early age she joined Elem Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully. Mrs. Earline Gelzer Rorie was united in matrimony to Mr. William Rorie and lived in New York where she worked as an educator in the public schools of New York until she retired. She was a life-long member of Weldon Lodge 125 of The Order of Eastern Stars.

Mrs. Earline Gelzer Rorie was preceded in death by her husband William Rorie, her parents Deacon Earl and Annie Gelzer, her brother (Jerry) Williams of Brooklyn, New York and Chelsea Rorie of North Carolina; three grandchildren, one which she reared in the home Mr. Moses Perkins; her beloved aunt Mrs. Gladys Gould of the home. Mrs. Earline Gelzer Rorie was blessed with a devoted team of caregivers, Mrs. Joann Johnson, Katie Kitt, Brenda Hodges, and Carolyn Haynes who will sadly miss her.
