Dorothy Jean Peppers Ray was born March 26,1962 in St. George, SC, the daughter of the late LC "Bubba" Carson and Essie Peppers Bennett. Dorothy died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at MUSC in Charleston, SC after an extended illness.
Dorothy was a life member of St. Phillip Christian Church. She was a former member of the choir and Praise and Worship Team. She was a graduate of St. George High School and later attended Columbia Junior College pursuing a higher education in 1982.
Dorothy was joined in holy matrimony to Gregory Wendell Ray in 1981.
Dorothy was employed by Wimberly Cleaners until her illness.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, LC "Bubba" Carson and Essie Peppers Bennett and her brother, James Calvin Carson.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her husband, Gregory Ray of St. George, SC; three daughters, Chasity L. Ray and Diashea J. Ray both of St. George, SC and D'Jeny S. Peppers of Summerville, SC; three sons, Gregory Ray of Reevesville, SC, Derrick W. Ray of St. George, SC and Keyon R. Risher of Reevesville, SC; two sisters, Gwendolyn Deloris (Anthony) Neals and Christine (Courtney) Carson-Dantzler both of Reevesville, SC; three brothers, Johnny Lee (Elaine) Peppers and Vincent McCoy (Betty) Peppers both of Reevesville, SC and Daniel (Eunice) Peppers of Columbia, SC; five grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
