Dorothy Jennings was born to the late David Grant, Jr. and the late Nase Lee Grant Fryar on March 28, 1943 in Ruffin, SC. She departed this earthly life on January 31, 2024.

Dorothy was educated in the Colleton County School System. As a teenager she moved to Long Island, NY with her family. She attended CNA School in New York. She worked as a CNA for over twenty years. After retiring, she moved back to South Carolina. She then became employed by Dorchester School District Two. She was a double retiree.

Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and taking road trips with them. Her favorite shows were Perry Mason, Young and the Restless and Bold and the Beautiful. She loved going fishing with her husband.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, David Grant, Jr. and Nase Lee Grant Fryar; children, Shawn Duffy and Carol Duffy; sister, Donna Mae Fryar; and brother, Leon Grant.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories, her husband, Isiah Jennings; her children, Barbara Duffy, James Duffy, Denise McCants (William) and John Duffy, Jr. (Tisha); sisters, Flossie R. Linton, Jannie V. Fryar, Beulah Fryar, and Louvenia F. Mays; grandchildren, Raymond Smith, Brittany Holman (Harry), Veronica Dixon (Laquell) Donte Deveaux, Jr., Dasia Deveaux, Devon Duffie, Deniya McCants and Davion McCants; great grandchildren, Raysahn Smith, Sianna Smith, Jayden Smith, Logan Smith, Omari Smith, Laquell Dixon, Naquell Dixon, Terence Rasberry, Elgin Holman, Jayda Holman and Jamere Holman; a host of other relatives and friends.
