Dorene J. Cummings, the youngest child of the late Ernest Cummings and the late Thelma Glover Cummings was born August 16, 1971 in St. George, SC.  She departed this life for a place of eternal rest on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at the Trident Medical Center in North Charleston.

Dorene graduated from St. George High School in 1989.  She was a member of Shady Grove United Methodist Church.

Dorene was employed by Money Man Pawn Shop for eight years.  She worked as an assistant manager for five of the eight years.  She also worked as a child care aide at Curious Minds Daycare for three years and at Gene's Pawn Shop for approximately four years.  She was devoted to all of her employers and always spoke favorable about them.

Dorene enjoyed shopping, cooking, customizing special items for family and gardening but the most important time was the time she spent with family and friends she loved dearly.  She will be sorely missed from our family and the community.

Dorene was preceded in death by three brothers, McCoy Glover, John Glover and Ernest Lee Cummings.

Dorene leaves loving memories that will be cherished forever as her family celebrates her life, one son, Jamie (Evante) Cummings of St. George, SC; one special grandson, Jamonte Cummings; fiancé, Gerald Hart of St. George, SC; three sisters, Loretta (Rogers) Glover of Bowman, SC, Ernestine C. Peden of Summerville, SC and Patricia Carn of Reevesville, SC; four brothers, Floyd Cummings, Eugene Barnwell and Tony Glover all of St. George, SC and Arthur (Inga) Cummings of Reevesville, SC; eleven aunts, Avon King and Martha C. Glover both of Maryland, Lois Lemon, Annie Mae Hadden, Maggie Glover and Dora L. Cummings all of St. George, SC, Alma (Roosevelt) Matthews, Minnie Lee (Margin) Breaker, Nellie R. Glover and Bernell Cummings all of Bowman, SC and Geneneve Cummings of New Jersey; three uncles, Mack Cummings and Howard Lee (Gertrude) Glover both of St. George, SC and James W. Glover of Clearwater, FL; special friends, Valerie Washington and Stephanie Cummings; devoted niece, Lokendra Glover; special nieces, Alexis Peden, Angela Pringe, Kalen Daniels, and Myesha Neals; devoted nephews, Dominique Glover, Jalen Daniels, Malik Jones and Jeremy Johnson; a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
