In the early morning of Wednesday, December 13, 2017 Desmond Javon Johnson was called home to be with the Lord.  Desmond lovingly called Dez was born January 25, 1988 at Medical University Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina.  Dez was the son of Sarah Estell Johnson and Nathaniel Gardner.

Dez attended Woodland High School and graduated with the Class of 2009.  Dez was loved by all of his classmates and his special instructor, Ms. Wandolin Jones.

He leaves to cherish precious memories: his parents, Sarah and Anthony Newton of Harleyville, SC; two brothers, Antonio and Antonie Newton both of Harleyville, SC; fifteen aunts; six uncles; a special uncle and aunt, caregivers, Johnnie and Joann Johnson; a special caregiver and chaperon, his cousin, Ms. Shemeter Mays; a host of other relatives and friends.

We all loved Dez but God loved him best.  Sleep on Dez and take your rest.  We will meet you again in the morning.
