Denise Rochelle Lewis was born March 20, 1981 in Mt. Vernon, New York to Nikki Williams and Dennis Davis. Denise entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 5, 2018 after a brief illness at Palmetto Health Baptist in Columbia, SC.

As a young child, Denise attended St. Mark United Methodist Church in Reevesville, SC. She attended public schools in Dorchester County and was a 1999 graduate of Harleyville - Ridgeville High School. She furthered her education at Benedict College in Columbia, SC. She was employed at Verizon Wireless for 15 years.

To know Denise was to love her. Her fun-loving spirit and radiant smile touched the heart of her friends and family. She was a vibrant, charismatic soul that left an indelible mark in every life she came in contact with.  Her daughters were her pride and joy; the legacy of her kind spirit and zest of life will live on through them.

On February 10, 2018, two hearts became one when Denise married the love of her life, Mr. Shedrick A. Lewis. Their love was framed following the pursuit of the Song of Solomon 3:4 where it states "I have found the one whom my soul loves".  After a short courtship, they both knew they were destined to be together for what they thought would be eternity.  The union of Denise and Shedrick brought two families together and created a blended family unit where they cherished their three children Shakirah, Nadiea, and Nia.

Denise leaves to cherish fond memories: her loving and devoted husband, Shedrick A. Lewis of the home; her three beautiful daughters: Nadiea K. O'Brien, Nia A. O'Brien and Shakirah A. Lewis; mother, Mrs. Nikki (Johnny) Williams of Harleyville, SC, father, Dennis Davis of New York; mother-in-law, Minister Eva Bryant of St. George, SC; father-in-law, Darrell Lewis of West Columbia, SC; a very special aunt and uncle: Darrell and Theresa McNeill of Reevesville, SC; aunts: Lisa Burton of New Rochelle, NY, Anna Lisa Glenn, Pastor Rosetta Sanders and Margie Lewis all of Reevesville, SC, Freddie Mae Garvin of Newark, NJ, Carolyn Lewis of Parma Heights, OH, Gloria Jean Elmore of Orangeburg, SC, Lennerd Sue (Gilbert) Mack of Harleyville, SC, Beaulah Belle Bryant and Shirley Ann Brown of St. George, SC; uncles: Matthew Elmore, Washington, DC, David (Marsha) Lewis of Orangeburg, SC, Terry Lewis and Claude Major of St. George, SC, Jimmy Lewis of Trenton, NJ and Richard (Geraldine) Bryant of St. George, SC; one brother-in-law, Demetrius Lewis of Rincon, GA; two sisters-in-law, LaQuinta S.
