Deacon Glenn Cobbs, Jr. was born on April 28, 1941 to Mr. Frank and Mrs. Sallie Mae Simmons Cobbs.

Glenn was educated by Dorchester County Public Schools.  Glenn was a truck driver since the age of 16 until he retired at the age of 65.  He was employed by many local trucking companies, Kirk Gruber Logging, Albert Simmons Logging, Greg Gruber Logging, and Harry Cobbs Logging.  Glenn was well known throughout the communities of St. George, Harleyville, Ridgeville, Dorchester, Summerville, Goose Creek, and Charleston.

Glenn was united in holy matrimony to Willie Beatrice Shuler on June 22, 1964.  To this union seven children were born.  Glenn is a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church in Grover, South Carolina, where served on the Deacon Board.

On Sunday, June 4, 2023 at 11:15 p.m. Deacon Glenn gained his heavenly wings.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Willie James and Randy Cobbs; his only sister, Pearline Palmer and daughter, Brenda Jean Cobbs.

Glenn leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving wife Beatrice Cobbs; four sons, Darrell (Serena) Shuler of Harrisonburg, Virginia, Glenn Bernard (April) Cobbs of Locust Grove, Georgia, Morris Cobbs of Charleston, South Carolina and Frank (Lashone) Cobbs of St. George, South Carolina; two daughters, Pamela Addison of Tampa, Florida and Theresa (Michael) Epps of Monroe, North Carolina; thirteen grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren;  one brother, Harry Cobbs of St. George, South Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Lillie Cobbs of St. George, South Carolina and Ruth Cobbs of New York; two brothers-in-law, Richard Shuler of Newark, New Jersey and Joe Palmer of Goose Creek, South Carolina; one uncle, Cecil L. Cobbs of St. George, South Carolina; one special niece, Laquesha Riley of St. George, South Carolina; one special nephew, Franklin Cobbs of New York; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will truly miss him.
