Obituary

Though the certainty of death and uncertainty of life is ever with us. God looked upon his earthly garden and saw a rose in perfect bloom. He choose that rose David Baxter, Sr. to bloom forever in his heavenly garden. David was born to the late Mr. James Baxter, Sr. and Mrs. Victoria Carson Baxter on November 15, 1940.

David met and married the love of his life Essie Mae Edwards. David and Essie shared a life time of love and happiness. A union that lasted 53 years and to which 4 wonderful children born. David was a dedicated loving husband and father. He touched the lives of countless people from all walks of life. David was known for his warm smile, hard work and friendly conversations. He will be truly missed by all that knew him.

After an extended sickness, he traveled back and forth to dialysis for 7 years God call him home to his eternal rest. David leaves to celebrate his life and glorify God for his transition to a new and better kingdom with fond memories forever to cherished by his devoted wife Essie Mae Baxter; four children, Elder David Lee Baxter of St. George, SC, Linda (Andrew) Brown of Santee, SC, Arnold (Annette) Baxter of Reevesville, SC and Ethel (Johnny) Peppers of Albany, NY; a devoted adopted daughter, Beverley (Herman) Bonaparte of Branchville, SC; a devoted nephew, Joseph (Martha) Simmons of Reevesville, SC; two brothers, Johnny Baxter and Jerry (Nell) Baxter both of Syracuse, NY; two sisters, Ollie (Bernard) Frazier and Doris Baxter-Webber both of Syracuse, NY; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
