God walked through His garden on Saturday Morning, May 5, 2018, and found a rose that was fading.  He reached down and picked the rose and took it home.  His child, David Barr, was born February 1, 1946 in Dorchester, SC to the late Leo Barr and the late Alma Williams Barr.  He received his education in the schools of Dorchester County.

At an early age, David united himself with the Morris Chapel Church family.  He remained faithful until his health started to fail.

David "Preacher" as he was called by his friends, worked at the Aluminum Plant in Summerville, SC for many years.  He also worked for Briteline Extrusions of Summerville, SC until he retired.

He was united in holy matrimony to Virginia Simmons on March 13, 1969.

His daughter, Yolanda; three brothers, Jacob, Sammie and Isaac; two sisters, Eartha Lee and Minnie Lee preceded him in death.

His precious memories will forever be cherished in the hearts of his loving wife, Virginia of the home; two daughters, Dorothy Simmons and Maryanne Simpson both of Charleston, SC; one son, Benjamin Simmons of Dorchester, SC; one sister, Rebecca Barr of Dorchester, SC; one sister-in-law, Louise Pringle of Brooklyn, NY; a devoted niece, Gloria (Percy) Thompson; adopted niece, Crystal Green; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
