The greatest treasure of our lives, David J. Barnwell was called to eternal rest on April 14, 2016.

David was the son of the late Lula and Hampy Barnwell. He was born July 25, 1938 in Dorchester County.

He attended the public schools of Dorchester County. He was a retiree of Sanders Brother, which he enjoyed.

He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Edna Jones Barnwell in 1959. To this union two children were born.

All of his siblings preceded him in death and two brothers-in-law.

Dad's memories will be loved and cherished by: his daughter, Diana (Theodore) Ancrum; his son, Ervin (Windy) Barnwell; one adopted daughter, Faye (Andrew Banks) Street; four grandchildren, DeCarlos (Takiyah) Jones, Shakeena (Jarell) Smalls, Alicia (Damon) Williams, and Aaron Barnwell; four great grandchildren whom he adored, Lania, Tyrek, D'Andre and DeMontae; six brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; a very special friend, Sheridan Mays of the home; a host of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives and friends.
