Darrell Edfus Lewis was born June 11, 1951 in Reevesville, South Carolina to the late Freddie Eugene Lewis and the late Rosa Mae Syphrett Lewis.  Darrell entered into eternal rest on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, South Carolina.

Growing up in Reevesville, SC, Darrell attended the public schools in Dorchester County. As a young boy, Darrell had a fascination with trucks and tractor-trailers. He went on to pursue a career as a truck driver where he drove for companies such as Southern Bulk, Stewart Transportation, and Smith Trucking. With hard work and determination, he later established Cracker Jack Trucking. Darrell retired as a truck driver after 47 years of service.

Darrell, affectionately known to many by his CB Handle Cracker Jack, was a man of few words, but always kept those around him laughing with his funny jokes and compelling stories. He enjoyed listening to music, fishing, and spending quality time with family and friends. Darrell loved all things related to trucking and will always be remembered by his love for a piping hot cup of coffee.

Darrell was joined in holy matrimony with Minister Eva Bryant and to this union four children were born: Demetrius, Shedrick, LaQuinta, and Charmaine.

He later married Paula Ford and from this union, he gained four additional children:  Raymond, Sean, Maurice and Evelyn.

He was preceded in death by two siblings: Millie Sue Major and Brenda Lewis and a devoted and caring daughter-in-law, Denise R. Lewis.

Darrell was a career truck driver that saw many miles on highways of blacktop, stone, and gravel. On his bed of affliction, Darrell accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and in doing so, his final load is heaven bound where he will now travel streets of gold.

Lewis, Kimresha Glover, Shakirah Lewis, Nadiea O'Brien, Nia O'Brien, Irii Lewis, Keilyn Lewis, Marisa Ford, Shakira Ford, Nathaniel Ford, Alexander Ford, Lillie Ford, Malachi Ford, Sean Ford Jr, Jalen Ford, Kymani Ford, Darien Ford, A'riah Ford, Kamiyah Ford, Makiya Ford, Tenryu Ford and Yuria Ford; sisters: Pastor Rosetta Sanders and Margie Lewis of Reevesville, SC, Freddie Mae Garvin of Newark, NJ, Carolyn Lewis of Parma Heights, OH, Gloria Jean Elmore of Orangeburg, SC; brothers: David (Marsha) Lewis of Orangeburg, SC, Terry Lewis of St. George, SC and Jimmy Lewis of Trenton, NJ; brothers-in-law: Glenn Ford of Philadelphia, PA, Claude Major, Phillip Elmore and Richard Bryant (Geraldine) of St. George, SC; and sisters-in-law: Vivian Lewis of Pelham, GA, Lennerd Sue (Gilbert) Mack of Harleyville, SC, Beaulah Belle Bryant and Shirley Ann Brown of St. George, SC; very close friends, Nathaniel Coger, Joe Reeves and Johnnie Lee Reeves of Reevesville, SC, Larry Sheard of Orangeburg, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
