Mr. Curtis Aaron Reeves was born on June 3, 1954, in Reevesville, South Carolina to Sally Reeves and the late Henry B. Cobbs. Curtis was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at 2:05 p.m. from an extended illness.
He was educated in Dorchester County Schools. At an early age, he joined Bethel No. 1 Holiness Church in Reevesville, SC. Curtis worked 14 Years at Dorchester County as a heavy equipment operator. He later started working at Risher & Mining Trucking Company as a heavy equipment operator until his health declined.
Curtis was joined in Holy Matrimony on September 7, 2007 to Annie Britt. Curtis was preceded in death by one son, Eric Reeves and his father Henry B. Cobbs.
Curtis leaves to cherish his loving memories: his loving wife, Annie Britt Reeves of Reevesville, SC; his loving mother, Ms. Sally Reeves of Brooklyn, NY, Ms. Rhetta Mae Coger, who raised him as her own of Reevesville, SC; two sons, Tyrone (Donetta) Reeves of Columbia, SC, and Christopher Darby of Pennsylvania; one daughter, Latoya Smith of Reevesville, SC; six brothers, Ralph Reeves and Clarence (Jacqualyn) Ravnell both of Reevesville, SC, Terry Syphrett, Joseph (Valerie) Syphrett, Craig Syphrett, and Tyrone Syphrett all of Brooklyn, NY; four sisters, Tammy Syphrett, Teresa Syphrett, Michelle Syphrett all of Brooklyn, NY and Vanessa (Lester) McWilliams of Reevesville, SC; two uncles, Bishop Ernest Reeves and Joseph (Harriet) Reeves both of Charleston, SC; aunt, Lula Reeves of Saint George, SC; mother-in-law, Ms. Irene Britt of Saint George, SC; two brother-in-law's, Willie (Renee) Britt of Augusta, GA and Robert (Patricia) Britt of Reevesville, SC; six sister-in-law's, Irene (Alfred) Ross, Lizzie Green, Willa Britt, Linda Britt all of Saint George, SC, Ida (Jeremiah) Dacus and Christine (David) Syphrett both of Reevesville, SC; fifteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren; two special friends, Andre Grayton and Dave Calvin both of Saint George, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
