Connie M. Lewis Coaxum was born August 15, 1949 to the late Pauline Lewis Bryant and Isaiah Jenkins. She entered into eternal rest on February 26, 2021 after an extended illness.

Connie was a 1967 graduate of Williams Memorial High School, St. George SC. She was employed with Dorchester School District Four for 28 years and retired in 2002.

Connie joined the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church at an early age and was a faithful member until her health declined.

Connie married Joe Coaxum on August 17,1968, who proceeded her in death. To this union they were blessed with one son, Jamaya J. Coaxum.

She leaves to cherish her fond memories, one son, Jamaya J. Coaxum of the home, two brothers; Frank Chandler of St. George SC and Larry Jenkins of Trenton, NJ; one sister, Yvonne Keitt of Phil, PA; one aunt, Bernell Murray of Mt. Holly, NJ; three sisters- in-law, Sarah (Joe) Golf and Mae Frances (Harry) Brown of Walterboro, SC and Luetrcia (Spencer) Coaxum of Savannah GA; one brother-in-law, George (Gloria) Coaxum of Round O, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
