A LOVE like no other. Connie Jo Wright was born on June 27, 1948, to the late Mr. Joseph Wright, Jr., and Mrs. Thelma Wright of Ridgeville, South Carolina.

A LOVE like no other. Connie was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County. She graduated from Kennedy High School in 1966. She went to Lincoln Business College in Florida to further her education in business. She later returned to South Carolina and was employed at Coastal Rehabilitation Center. It was natural for Connie to care for others, so she pursued employment that would allow her to use her natural talent. She was a bus driver for Dorchester County School District 4, a teacher at Robert Allen Center for Special Needs, and a caregiver for Knightsville Day Care Center. After taking a few years off from working, she later returned to the workforce as a machine operator for Grand Forest, Inc., and as a bus monitor for Dorchester County School District 2. She also took care of children for several young parents in the community. She provided these children with a safe, nurturing, and Christian environment. She was a pillar in the community. She was a Girls Scout Troop Leader for many years. She was actively involved in organizations at the schools her daughters attended, such as the PTA, Athletic Booster Club and Band Booster Club. She was a spiritual advisor to many. People from near and far would seek her out to discuss their personal issues, and she would always listen and give good sound spiritual advise. She always ended the conversation with one of her favorite scriptures, Trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

A LOVE like no other. Connie was united in holy matrimony to Milton Leroy Doctor on June 28, 1970. To this union, four beautiful daughters were born, Ivey, Katrina, Vernetha, and Linda.

A LOVE like no other. Connie joined Christ Temple Deliverance Church at a young age. She was a FAITHFUL, LOYAL, DEDICATED member for over 40 years. She held several positions in the church such as: Choir Director, Sunday School teacher for the adults and children, Church Secretary, President of the Pastor's Aid Board, Missionary Department, and Usher Board. She was ordained as a minister and accepted the calling to become a Prophetess. Anyone who knew Connie knew that she loved the Lord and her church. She did anything that needed to be done in the church without being asked to do it. She decorated a special room in the church for the visiting pastors. She found full enjoyment in gift giving throughout the year. She made sure every person in the church received a gift on Father's Day, Mother's Day and Christmas. Her life of ministry extended beyond the walls of the church. She gave baskets filled with food to the elderly. She did not hesitate to open her home to those in need, regardless of whether they were family or not. She considered it her Christian duty to witness to the unsaved and to pray for the sick and lame. Her life's work speaks volumes about the type of Christian that she was and taught others to be. She was pure love in the flesh. She represented a type of LOVE that's like no other.

A LOVE like no other. Connie Jo Doctor leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 48 years Milton Doctor, four daughters Ivey Johnson (Derek Sr.), Katrina Doctor, Vernetha Bryant (Patrick), and Linda Doctor; three sisters Johnnie Mae Pringle, Debra Simmons, and Barbara Bolden; eight grandchildren, Jasmine, Octavia, Christine, Derek Jr., Kaylen, Trinity, Jordan, and Carlo; nine brothers-in-law; ten sisters-in-law; one uncle, Roosevelt Bennett; one aunt, Rose Mitchell; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.

A LOVE like no other. She was preceded in death by two infant brothers, another brother, Joe Wright Jr., and sister, Vanessa Bowman.
