Obituary

Mrs. Clydell Johnson Dublin departed this life Sunday, December 5, 2010, after a brief illness. She was born in Harleyville, South Carolina, on April 3, 1935, to the late Reverend Clyde and Rebecca Gelzer Johnson. She was preceded in death by one sister, Maybelle Edwards (William).

Her early years in school were attended in Dorchester County Public School System. Her family relocated to Charleston, South Carolina where she attended and graduated from Burke High School.

She accepted Christ at an early age and attended Elem Missionary Baptist Church prior to moving to Charleston. As the years passed, she eventually returned to Dorchester and became an active member at Elem Missionary Baptist Church.

She was employed by Dorchester County School District Four as a Substitute Teacher. She was dedicated to every student she met and often expressed her desire to help them get a good education and succeed in life.

Fond memories of her will be cherished by her husband, Leon Dublin of the home; two daughters, Vernetta Chisolm, Sicklerville, NJ and Brenda Montuori, Dorchester, SC; two sisters, Doral Johnson, East Elmhurst, NY and Maryetta Lockley (James), Oklahoma City, OK; one adopted sister Nora Anderson, Roosevelt, NY; three sisters-in-law, Betty Lee (Alonza), Phyllis Barfield, Sheerie Robinson (Danny); three grandchildren, Michele, Gabriele and Alessandra Montuori; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
