Master Clyde Alexander Washington was born Monday, March 26, 2007, and the only child to Dana M. White and co-caretaker Brittani S. Carson in Columbia, SC.  Clyde gained his wings on Thursday, December 7, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones after an extended battle with Acute Kidney Disease.

Clyde was a student in Dorchester District Four.  He attended Williams Memorial Elementary School until the 4th grade then Harleyville Elementary until his 8th grade year.  Due to his illness, Clyde was homeschooled for high school.  He was honored with a Medical University of South Carolina diploma.

Clyde, affectionately known as "Toot Toot", "Tookabutt", "C-Dub", "Stick-a-butt"," the warrior", and Clydie Wydie" was a blessed and unique child.  Within his sixteen years, "the warrior" overcame many health battles and obstacles related to the Acute Kidney Disease, Hypomelanosis of Ito, Epilepsy, Gastroparesis, Hidradenitis, Suppurativa, and Autism.  MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children's Hospital became his second family and home due to various stays.  His MUSC family loved him without a shadow of a doubt.  The staff and doctors cared for both Clyde and Dana.  Hands of Hope Palliative and Hospice Care In-home Care played a daily role in his life and Palmetto Care of SC with his wonderful Nurse Nicole Meritt (for whom he had all smiles).

Clyde pressed his way through with lots of love, hugs, kisses, and singing.  Singing was his favorite pastime.  Music was his joy.  Many days and nights were spent on the phone to see his smile.  In November, his health began declining more rapidly.  Clyde still fought and showed us what a warrior looked like.  Often humming "You Fight On" while smiling.  Nearing the end of his journey, he was surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones who cared for him deeply.  The warrior fought a good fight and he is resting with the angels peacefully.

He leaves to cherish his incredible legacy and profound loving memories, his mother, Dana M. White of Charleston, SC; special cousin/co-caretaker, Brittani S. Carson of Reevesville, SC; grandparents, Frank and Barbara White; two aunts, Vickie (the late James) Carson of Reevesville, SC and Natasha White of St. George, SC; godmothers, Janet Lemon and the late Rev. Dorothy Moyd of Columbia, SC; great aunts, Marvie (the late Michael) Brown of Dorchester, SC, Ruby Mae (the late Calhoun) Pooser and Ruby (the late Harris) Lemon both of St. George, SC and Annie (Artis) Dozier of New York; auntie Latisha Brown of Dorchester, SC; special cousins Devante Carson and James Carson both of Reevesville, Lalah Richardson, Brendalyn Brown, and Trinity Footman all of Dorchester, SC; a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him
