On the First Sunday of Advent, November 27, 2022 the angels came to carry home Brother Clay Cee Singletary after an extended illness. Clay Cee "Rice" Singletary along with his late twin sister Eartha was born May 11, 1951 to the late Willie Singletary, Sr and Jestine Cobbs Singletary.
Clay Cee joined Jerusalem Baptist Church at an early age and was baptized in the Edisto River. Clay Cee attended Williams Memorial High School. Clay Cee held many jobs living in numerous counties in South Carolina most noteworthy was his job with the S.C. Highway Department in Saluda County.
Clay Cee loved talking to his family and friends and his jokes and sense of humor was appreciated by all. He was a man with a gentle and quiet spirit.
In addition to his parents and twin sister Eartha Lee Dereef, Clay Cee was preceded in death by his oldest brother, J. Harrel Singletary and nephew, Keith Dereef.
Wonderful memories will be cherished by his brother, Willie Singletary. Jr. (Emily) Savannah, GA, sisters, Evelyn Singletary, St. George, SC, Marvis (Nathan) Robinson, Hinesville, GA and Brenda Lee Singletary, Swainsboro, GA, aunts, Lorraine McMillan, Philadelphia, PA and Sara Little, St. George SC, one devoted uncle, Leroy Cobbs, St. George, SC, special cousin, Corine Prezzy, Vance, SC, Honorable mention to the family of the late Jonathan Utsey.
