Christopher Britt, the youngest child of the late John Henry and Eunice Britt was born November 9, 1963.  He departed this life on Monday November 19, 2018 at Huntsville Hospital in Huntsville, Alabama.

In his youth, he attended Bethel Baptist Church where he was an active member and grew in Christ.

He was united in Holy Matrimony to Mrs. Gwendolyn Adams Britt on July 7, 1984. To this union, one daughter and one son were born.

Chris was a passionate and dedicated husband, father, soldier, and civil servant. He always strived for excellence and attention to detail. Always a sharped dressed man with a smile and kind words for everyone. Chris was a decorated, outstanding soldier that served his country for 26 years. His tours of duty included Germany; Korea; the Balkins (Kosovo); Afghanistan; Fort Polk, LA; Fort Bragg, NC; DFAS – Orlando, FL; and Fort Drum, NY where he officially retired from his active military career with the United States Army. Chris was especially proud to be a member of the elite 82 ^nd Airborne Division and 10 ^th Mountain Division. He was the recipient of the notable Bronze Star Medallion, as well as many other leadership accolades. He served as a United States civil servant for the Missile Defense Agency and US Army Contracting Command as a team lead budget analyst.

Christopher served as a deacon under Sweet Haven Holy Church of God and Beacon Hill Church of God in Christ. He joined the fellowship of Saint Bartley Primitive Baptist Church where he enjoyed the presence of the Lord and the edifying worship and praises under the leadership of Pastor Jaymes Mooney. His spirit and heart for the Word and God's presence and power were his guiding light. He let his let so shine that men saw his good works and he thereby glorified the Father in Heaven, Christ Jesus. His children and wife saw him as a beacon of light as he guided them with strength, righteousness, and encouragement. He was a devoted father who always taught his children to be better than the best and to set their own path in life. He encouraged them to follow the wisdom of his parents and always kept the faith. Christopher could light up any room with his infection smile and could crack a joke so fast that his soldiers in the 82 ^nd division called him Cowboy Gunslinger 82.

Christopher is survived by his wife, Gwendolyn Adams Britt; one son, Trenton (Kede) Britt; one daughter, Ciarra (Cory) Britt Smith; two granddaughters, Olivia Rose Britt and Kyler Grace Britt, all of Huntsville, AL; one sister Patricia A. (Jake) Huggins, of North Charleston, SC; his mother-in-law who he called the best mother-in-law in the world, Ellen S. Adams, of St. George, SC; two sister-in-laws, Patricia C. (Ronnie) Britt, of Dorchester, SC, and Tammy (Bernard) Kelly, of Sumter, SC; one brother-in-law, Larry Adams Jr, of Williston, ND; and a nephew who was like his first son, Marcus C. (Ra'Shanda) Britt, and their children Allison, Aubrey, Micah, and Moriah who were his first "grandchildren" before he was blessed with his own, all of Moncks Corner, SC. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Ida Britt; father-in-law, Larry Adams; brothers, Ronnie, Bernard, and Ralph Britt; and his sister Linda (John) Seels.
