Mr. Charles Edward Perry departed this life on January 12, 2013. He was born on October 27, 1935 in Reevesville, SC. He was the first child of the late Mr. David and Queen Perry. He was reared by his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Charity Brown along with his special cousins, Ezekiel Brown, Leroy (Sonny) Brown, Ruth Mezas, Mary Anthony, Fred Brown, Mr. Edward Brown, Daisy Nelson and Leon Brown.

He was a dedicated, hardworking father who loved and provided for his family. He served as a Deacon in Bethel # 1 Pentecostal Holiness Church in Reevesville, SC until his health prevented him from doing so. He was the eldest of twelve children.

He was educated in Dorchester County Public School System. He married Florine Lewis (Perry). Their union lasted 45 years and to which five children were born; Charles Mervin Perry, Westley Vernon Perry, Era Lionel Perry, William Antone Perry and Eunice Selena Perry.

He had a special aunt and uncle who preceded him in death, Mr. Edward Lee and Frizzell Brown and two siblings, Daniel Perry and Gene Perry.

He leaves to cherish his memories: five children, Charles Mervin Perry of Bennettsville, SC, Westley Vernon Perry of Columbia, SC, Era Lionel Perry of Newport News, VA, William Antone Perry of Orangeburg, SC and Eunice Selena Perry of West Columbia, SC; five brothers, Levi (Minnie) Perry of Charlotte, NC, Ernest (Shirley) Perry of Raeford, NC, Thomas Perry of Gastonia, NC, Isaiah (Martha) Perry of New Jersey and Ezekiel Perry of Brooklyn, NY; four sisters, Emma Queen (Thomas) Green of Reevesville, SC, Vennie McClam of Monroe, NC, Effie Scott of Queens, NY and Delores (Larry) Perry-King of Gastonia, NC; five sisters-in-law, Thomasena Perry-Steele of Virginia Beach, VA, Queenie Mae Simmons of Orangeburg, SC, Hattie Lee (Henry) Britt of Titusville, FL, Elouise Barber of East Orange, NJ and Naomai Henderson of Charleston, NC; three brothers-in-law, Paul (Mary) Lewis of Branchville, SC, and Jerome Henderson and Andrew Fulton both of Charleston, SC; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Perry of Orangeburg, SC; two grandchildren, Erin Lashawn Perry of Charlotte, NC and Lionel Jamaal Perry of Orangeburg, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
