Mrs. Catherine Sims Haynes, the daughter of the late Arthur "Boot" and Lizzie Lee Sims, was born on November 21, 1938. She entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 10, 2010, at the St. George Health Care Center after an extended illness.

Catherine graduated from Williams Memorial High School.

At an early age, Catherine joined St. Luke United Methodist Church. She was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Choir. She served the church faithfully until her health declined. She was a loving and outgoing person to all she knew.

Catherine was united in holy matrimony to Joe Nathan Haynes. This union was blessed with two children — Sandra and Cathy.

Catherine was preceded in death by one brother, James A. Sims.

Catherine leaves to cherish fond memories: her devoted husband, Joe Nathan Haynes of the home; two daughters, Sandra Haynes of Columbia, SC and Cathy Haynes of Summerville, SC; one brother, Larry Sims of St. George, SC; one sister-in-law, Lena Sims of St. George, SC; one brother-in-law, Samuel Haynes of St. George, SC and many other relatives, nieces, nephews and friends.
