Carol Jo James was born in Dorchester County on May 10, 1959, a daughter of the late Virginia Boyd and Willie James Boyd.

She attended school in Dorchester County, SC.  To Know Carol was to love her.  She was a retired cook of many years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, which she loved dearly.  Carol also enjoyed fishing and spending quality time with her devoted sister, Julia Boyd.  She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where she served faithfully until her illness.

Carol was preceded in death by her son, Tommy Boyd; three sisters, Mary E. Nelson, Peggy Ann Major, and Bertha Lee Lambright; one brother, Elijah Boyd.

Carol leaves behind to cherish her fond memories; two children, Patricia James and Johnny James both of Holly Hill, SC; a sister, Julia Boyd of Saint George, SC; four brothers, John L Boyd and Canady Boyd (Mary) both of Saint George, SC, and James Boyd (Donnette) of Summerville, SC; one devoted friend, Krystal Lodkey; one brother-in-law, Leroy Major of Reevesville, SC; a host of nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.
