Obituary

Brenda Lewis was the eighth of eleven children born to Mrs. Rosa Mae Syphertt Lewis and the late Freddie Eugene Lewis, on August 7, 1959. On Monday, May 19, 2014, she entered into eternal rest at the Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg, South Carolina after an extended illness.

Brenda was reared and attended public school in Dorchester County. She was a 1977 graduate of St. George High School. She also graduated from Denmark Technical College as a secretarial science major. She was employed at Husqvarna as an Accounts Receivable Specialist for 21 years until her health declined.

As a young child, Brenda joined Jericho Baptist Church. As an adult, she joined Bethel # 2 Word Outreach Ministries where she gave her life to the Lord. She was a woman who was extremely friendly, loved to cook, and was loyal to everyone she came in contact with.

She was preceded in death by her father, Freddie Eugene Lewis, and a sister, Millie Sue Major.

She leaves to cherish fond memories: her mother, Rosa Mae Syphertt Lewis of St. George, SC; her siblings, Darrell (Paula) Lewis, David (Marsha) Lewis, and Gloria Jean (Phillip) Elmore all of Orangeburg, SC; Pastor Rosetta Sanders and Margie Lewis both of Reevesville, SC; Freddie Mae Garvin of Newark, NJ; Carolyn Lewis of Parma Heights, OH; Terry (Vivian) Lewis of Pelham, GA; and Jimmy Lewis of Trenton, NJ; one brother-in-law, Claude Major of St. George, SC; four special nieces, Ronika Lewis of the home, Tanisha Elmore and Brielle Murray both of Orangeburg, SC and Megan Sanders of Reevesville, SC; four special friends, Minerva Smith and Cynthia Davis both of St. George, SC and Rhondilyn Waller and Gladys Brown both of Orangeburg, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
