A general in the faith, has been called home after faithfully shepherding God's people, providing faithful service, extending spiritual oversight, and tireless commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He was a servant leader, a visionary, and a loving and caring spiritual father to many. He poured his life into building the kingdom and strengthening the body of Christ. He spent countless years evangelizing throughout the Carolinas and beyond.

Bishop Reeves was born on August 5, 1931, to the late Ruthie Reeves and Rev. Earnest Murray. And entered eternal rest on Thursday, February 9th, 2026. He was educated in the public schools of Orangeburg and Dorchester Counties. He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Louise Reeves whom he loved dearly, and they were blessed with three loving children. He was very devoted to his wife and children, and when his wife became ill, he did everything he could to take care of her. He never met a stranger and loved to laugh and joke. If he couldn't remember your name, he would say "wha your name is"? He retired from Jim Bilton Ford in St. George South Carolina where he was employed for 51 years.

Bishop Reeves gave his life to Christ at an early age and was later called into the ministry. He pastored Mt. Moriah Holiness Church for many years and was the Assistant Pastor of Bethel #1 in Reevesville, SC. He also served as the Youth Director for the Southern District of the United Pentecostal Council of the Assemblies of God (UPCAG). After the death of the late Bishop Lun Green, he was appointed Pastor of Bethel #1 where he served faithfully for 28 years. In 2008, he was consecrated as Bishop of The Southern District. His last assignment was the St. George Health Care Facility, where many souls were led to Christ and many that visited him, were prayed for and ministered to. He was also a faithful member of the St. George Ministerial Alliance.

Bishop Reeves was the inspiring voice behind the opening services for the Shady Grove Campground for a number of years. He known for his singing and praising "abba" (our) God. The legacy of our beloved Bishop Reeves will forever be embedded in the hearts of his loving children and family. Four children, Johnnie Lee (Emma) Reeves, Ruffin, SC; Rommie (Kemea) Reeves, Reevesville, SC; Pastor Ella (James) Bradley Fayetteville NC; Tyrone Reeves, his grandson raised as his very own son, Fayetteville NC. Five sisters, Dorothy Mae (John) Gator, Concord, NC; Wilhemia (John) Salmon, Far Rockaway, NC; Rhetta Mae Coger, Reevesville, SC. One brother, Joe Reeves, Reevesville, SC. Twelve grandchildren, twenty-five great grands, and twelve great-grands and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives, and Mrs. Julia Gadsen.

Although, he has transitioned from labor to reward, and his voice may be silent on earth, his impact will echo through eternity. And yes, while we grieve his absence, today we celebrate a life well lived, a race well run, and a legacy that will continue for generations and generations to come.
