Obituary

On Wednesday, January 15, 2014 Biaggo Anthony Zumatto entered into eternal rest at his daughter's residence after a brief illness. He was born in Sicily, Italy on April 9, 1938 to the late Dominck and Biaggio Zumatto.

After the family migrated to New York, Anthony grew up in Manhattan where he attended and graduated high school. While in school he worked for his father at the family's fruit and vegetable stand. After high school Anthony enlisted in the United States Navy where he served from 1955-1957. Upon completing his tour in the Navy, Anthony attended college. Anthony was a very spiritual man.

Anthony spent more than fifteen years in Middletown, New York. Anthony worked as a correction officer for Duchess County as well as served as sheriff for Duchess County. After serving many years, Anthony retired from Duchess County. Anthony returned to work after his retirement and worked for River Bay for nineteen years until his illness.

In 1958 Anthony married the late Carmen Ann. To this union three children were born, Sandra, Renee and Adrian. After the death of Carmen Ann, Anthony married Doris. To this union three children were born, Tony, Michele and Michael.

Anthony was preceded in death by one daughter, Adrian, two grandsons, Duane and Gabriel, two brothers, Gil and Louie and one sister, Vivian.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his five children, Sandra, Renee (Terrence), Tony, Michael and Michele; eight grandchildren, Leevan, Mark Anthony, Robert Terrence, Candice, Rachel, Arianna, Chris and Richie, and four great-grands, Arihanna, Deanaria, Mikell and Richie; two sisters, Josie and Marie; three brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; special friend Cindy; friends from River Bay, Dave Hartman, Anthony and Sam; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
