Mrs. Betty J. Harris was summoned by God's Heavenly Angels on Sunday, May 7, 2017 after an extended illness.

Mrs. Harris was born March 3, 1947 in St. George, SC, a daughter of Mrs. Lenell Johnson Summers and the late Alton Summers.

She was a member of the Shady Grove United Methodist Church. She attended Williams Memorial High School of St. George and was a graduate of the class of 1965.

She worked at ITT Conoflow for over 40 years until her retirement in 2010.

She was joined in Holy Matrimony to Arthur J. Harris on June 21, 1976.

Betty touched many people lives. She was always helping people any way she saw fit.

She leaves to cherish her many precious and wonderful memories: her husband, Arthur J. Harris; her loving mother, Lenell Johnson Summers of St. George, SC; one foster son, Cedric Martino of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Alma Steward of St. George, SC and Barbara Dereef of Norwalk, CT; three foster sisters, Linda Anderson and Eddie Sue Hankins both of St. George, SC and Cynthia Martino of Miami, FL; one uncle, Lester Lincoln of St. George, SC; eight aunts, Mary Summers, Pearlie Mae Williams, Martha Halman and Elease Williams all of St. George, SC, Bertha Lee Summers of MD, Mildred Goodwin of Bowman, SC, Louise Simmons of NY and Martha L. Summers Green of Rowesville, SC; one sister-in-law, Nettie (Ezekiel) Kitt of Jedburg, SC; three foster grandchildren, Teona Martino, Tasheema Murray and Jacob Brooks all of St. George, SC; two godchildren, Lateefah Cusack of Dorchester, SC and Jerod Johnson of St. George, SC; one good friend, Jeanie (Curtis) Addison of St. George, SC; a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
