Mrs. Bertha Lee Daniels departed this life on July 12, 2010 at her daughter's home in St. George, South Carolina.
Bertha Lee Daniels was born April 5, 1919 to the late Issac and Nealie Anderson of Grover, South Carolina. She attended public school but like so many of her generation, she had to drop out of school to work on the family's farm. As a young woman she met and married the late Edward Daniels. As a young adult she moved to New York and worked as a housekeeper and factory worker. Due to a family member's illness she returned to Grover, South Carolina.
She was a dedicated member of St. Luke United Methodist Church. She served as a Missionary Member, Class Leader and as a member of the Usher Board.
Bertha Lee had a great sense of humor. She could really make you laugh. She was also a great cook.
Bertha Lee was last employed by the former Carolina Girls Wear in St. George, South Carolina.
Bertha Lee was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Bridgette Daniels and seven siblings, Joe Anderson, Arlene Anderson, Burton Anderson, Annie Bell Britt, Lawrence Anderson and Linda Anderson.
She leaves to cherish her fond memories: one daughter, Albertha (Louis) Stewart of St. George, SC; one son, Sylvester (Pat) Daniels of Grover, SC; two grandchildren, Tonya Coaxum of St. George, SC, Slyvester Jhon Daniels of Columbia, SC ; four great grandchildren, Tiffany, Brendolyn, Tyler and Breilynn; three sisters, Ennesa Primus of Aiken, SC, Angie Martin of St. George, SC and Elise Lugo of New York City; two brothers, Albert Anderson and Irvan (Charlotte) Anderson of Sunset Beach, NC; three sisters-in-law, Angie Massard of Cocoa, FL, Anna Bell Memminger of Tampa, FL and Rosa Mae Jamison of Grover, SC and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
