Bernice Jamison Cobb was born January 8, 1923. Bernice was the daughter of the late Sam Jamison and Mattie Mae Rivers Jamison. She departed this life on Friday, August 23, 2013 at St. George Health Care Center after an extended illness.

Bernice was educated in the early years of her life. Bernice worked as a domestic worker for many years.

She was a lifelong member of St. Luke United Methodist Church where she served faithfully as a communion Stewardess until her health declined.

Fannie, Minus, AZ, Eartha, Joseph, Frank, Ronnie, John W. and Willie C. preceded her in death.

Bernice was married to the late Ira Cobb. This union was blessed with six children, two preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish fond memories: three sons, Burnell (Maude) Cobb, Willie J. Cobb and Jerry Cobb all of St. George, SC; one daughter, Barbara A. Cobb of St. George, SC; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (Freddie) McCants, Ruth Hayes and Alean Jamison all of St. George, SC; two sisters-in-law, Rosa Mae Jamison of St. George, SC and Willie Mae Jamison of Dorchester, SC; one son-in-law, Nathaniel Carson of St. George, SC; one daughter-in-law, Denise Cobb of Buffalo, NY and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
