Bernard Rorie transitioned on December 24, 2022 at Sloans Cancer Center in Brooklyn, New York.

Bernard was the son of the late Mr. William Rorie and Mrs. Earline Rorie and the grandson of the late Deacon Earl and Annie Gould Gelzer of Harleyville, South Carolina.

He was educated in the Public School System of Brooklyn, New York.  He attended College in Brooklyn.  He was employed as a Correction Officer in Brooklyn, New York.

He is survived by his mother, Earline Rorie of Harleyville, SC; two daughters, Sadyqua (Jerry) Williams of Summerville, SC and Chelsea Rorie of North Carolina; two grandchildren, Knowledge Perkins of Summerville, SC and Moses Perkins of Brooklyn, NY; one grandaunt, Gladys Gould; two special cousins, Debra and Terry of Brooklyn, NY; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
