Bennie Jean Haynes Brown "Val" was born to the late William Summers, Sr. and Gertie Haynes on October 28, 1955 in St. George, SC. She was called home to be with the Lord on October 22, 2025.

She was educated in the Dorchester County School system. She attended New Hope AME Church in St. George, SC, where she sung on the choir and was a part of the youth ministry. She worked for Hallmark Nursing Home and St. George Nursing home for many years.

On May 15, 1975 she married the love of her life Jimmy C. Brown and unto this union they had four sons, Jimmy, Sherman, Troy, and Kevin.

Bennie loved reading her bible, going to church, talking to her family and friends, the outdoors, her plants, and animals.

Bennie was preceded in death by her parents, one son Troy Dequinn Brown, and one brother-in-law John Brown.

Bennie leaves to cherish her fondest memories, her husband, Jimmy C. Brown, three sons; Jimmy Jmar Brown, Sherman King Brown, Kevin Clay Brown, one grandson; Dequinn Brown, brothers; John Haynes and Thomas Haynes, sisters; Theresa Elleby, Genise Hayes, Jarret Hayes, Mary Lindo "Anthony", Gabina Hayes, mother-in-law; Julia Mae Brown, brothers-in-law; Joseph Brown, Timothy J. Brown, and Al(Victoria)Brown, sisters-in-law; Sallie (Perry) Grayton and Betty Felder, one aunt, four uncles, and host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
