Beatrice Lewis departed this life on Friday, January 22, 2010 at Trident Regional Medical Center, North Charleston, South Carolina. She was born Willie Beatrice Andersen, beloved daughter of the late Willie Thomas Andersen and the late Elisa Elizabeth Berry on July 6, 1938.

Beatrice was united in holy matrimony to the late Leon Lewis. This union was blessed with four children: Robert Lee Lewis, Latesha Renae Lewis, Charles Daniel Lewis and Ayana Beth Lewis. Beatrice was a devoted wife and mother and a member of St. Matthews Baptist Church in Reevesville, SC.

Beatrice touched the lives of many family and friends in a positive and blessed way. She was a foster mother in Brooklyn, New York where she resided from 1971 to 1993. Beatrice was a quiet and reserved person, but always willing to help in any way she could. She will be loved and missed forever by all those lives she touched.

She is survived by her four children, Robert Lee (Victoria), Latesha Renae (Seth), Charles Daniel, and Ayana Beth; eight grandchildren, Terrell Curry, Cherone Lewis, Janay Lewis, Talitha Summers-Lewis, Taija Lewis, Attallah Lewis-Readdon, Fatima Lewis-Dones, Wycyrus Gantt; two great-grandchildren, Omari Lewis, and Jeremiah Curry; one sister, Charlotte Pugh; aunts, and a host of cousins and friends.
