Obituary

Barbara Ann Singletary entered eternal rest on the morning of October 20, 2023, in Summerville, SC, after an extended illness with Cancer.

Barbara was born to the late Calvin C. and Mary Lee Singletary on March 25, 1962, in Grover, SC. She received her education through the Saint George South Carolina School System.

Throughout life's struggles, Barbara maintained a close relationship with God. She recommitted her life to the Lord and became a dedicated servant. Barbara served as an Usher at Saint Luke and New Grace United Methodist Church. She also was a member of the United Methodist Women's Missionary.

Barbara's house was welcoming; you could expect a full belly, good laughs, and a pillow for your head. Barbara was a nurturer to many family members and children of the community. When it was time to leave, you could count on lost shoes, socks, and keys. Barbara was filled with wisdom and was a listening ear, offering advice from lessons learned. You could always find Barbara being Grover's Taxicab, caring for and visiting the sick, and sitting in her recliner watching the Stories and Live Five news.

Barbara is preceded in death by her sister, Michelle Singletary, and great-nephew, Aodhan Salley.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory to her children, Shaquanda Singletary, Katara Singletary, Bryan (Chalita Johnson) Singletary, Olivia Singletary of Summerville, SC, and Delshae Goff of Atlanta, GA. Her pride and joy, her granddaughter, Skye Singletary. Her brother James C. Singletary of Saint George, Sisters Helen Polite of Saint George, Debra Singletary of Washington, DC, Geraldine Goff of Summerville, Tyona Singletary of Saint George, and her special sister Catherine Risher of Saint George. A host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other family and friends.
