On the morning of Saturday, September 17, 2016, the Lord called home one of His faithful servants.

Annie Brothers Cusack was born in St. George, South Carolina on August 11, 1929, the fifth of six daughters, to the late Boyden and Lillie Jennings Brothers.

She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at New Hope AME Church and was filled with the Holy Ghost in 1954.

Annie was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County, South Carolina. She met the love of her life of 67 years, Richard Cusack in Dorchester, South Carolina. To this union they were blessed with three children; Geneva Cusack Kirby, David Cusack (deceased), and Renee Cusack Randall.

The family relocated to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1952. Annie Cusack continued her education in nursing and became a Licensed Practical Nurse until her retirement when she returned to Dorchester, South Carolina.

While in Philadelphia, Annie was a faithful member of St. Matthew AME Church. There she was very active and held leadership positions within the local and connectional Women's Missionary Society, the Nurses Unit and Financial Budget Committee.

In November 1994 Annie moved her church home back to New Hope AME Church, where she was a member of the Missionary Society, Choir, and Courtesy Committee. Annie loved her church and God's people.

Annie Cusack was the Past Matron of Martha Chapter # 3 Order of Eastern Stars of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, a member of the Heroines of Jericho and First Aid and Health, Order of Eastern Star, District Chairman of the Nurses Unit, and Treasurer of Past Matrons and Past Patrons Council of Martha Chapter # 3, where she served her chapter with love, and dignity. When she returned to South Carolina she joined the Pride of McDaniel Chapter # 334 OES.

Annie Cusack leaves a legacy of memories and love to her devoted husband, Richard; two daughters, Geneva and Renee (Bryan); four grandchildren, James Howard Kirby, Jr., Keith Richard Kirby (LaShea), Alexis Naomi Randall, and Bryan Alexander Randall; one sister, Elizabeth Black; three sisters-in-law, Willie Lee Cusack, Hattie Cusack, and Ruth Cusack. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
