Brother Alonzo "Bubba" Johnson, Jr. was born April 15,1927 in Harleyville to the late Rev. Alonzo Johnson, Sr. and Julia Coburn Johnson.  Alonzo transitioned into the heavenly realm November 25, 2018 after a brief illness.

Alonzo "Bubba" Johnson was educated in the public schools of Dorchester County.  He was a long time member of Jerusalem United Methodist Church until its closing, and then joined Johnsonville Christian Church until his health declined.  "Bubba" was a hard working man as he worked in Mims, Florida on the railroad until 1952 then he became a Merchant Seaman.  He was a Fireman water attendant and ship engineer for 35 years.  In this capacity he was blessed to travel around the world three times.  After his retirement, he later joined Mashburn and Hightower Construction until his second retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Ransom Wesley, Sr. and Clarence Johnson and one sister, Margaret Marie Johnson Shank.

He leaves to cherish precious memories, his loving wife of the home, Patricia Ann Johnson; two daughters, Shulanda Johnson of the home and Shakema (Joshua) Frasier of Goose Creek; two sons, Timothy (Linda) McKnight and Roosevelt (Brenda) McKnight both of Dorchester; one brother, Leroy (Mary) Johnson of Summerville; three sisters, Georgianna Coafou of Harleyville, Juanita (Gene) Hill of Ridgeville, and Mary (William) Satchell of Philadelphia, PA; six brothers-in-law; Gerald Shank, Oliver Wright, Sr., Herman Rhames, Alvin Rhames, Edwin Boyd and Esau (Mary) Rhames; six sisters-in-law, Thelma Johnson, Claireen (Alfred) Singletary, Joan (Johnny) Johnson, Annette (Kenneth) Gaddist, Carolyn Rhames, Elizabeth (Andrew) Felder and Jaqueline Smalls; nine grandchildren; ten great- grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
