Alma Mary Weiters Simmons, the daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Weiters was born in the St. Paul Community in Dorchester, South Carolina on November 6, 1911. She entered into eternal rest on Friday, August 6, 2010.
Sister Simmons was united in Holy Matrimony to Naldo Simmons who preceded her in death. She happily assumed the role of homemaker. They were blessed with a daughter, Betty Simmons Frazier, deceased and a son, Ricky Simmons.
Sister Simmons received her education in the Dorchester County Public Schools. She was a member of Greater Saint Paul AME Church. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and spending time with family.
Sister Simmons will be sadly missed by son, Ricky Simmons of Columbia, South Carolina; one son-in-law, Nathaniel Frazier, Jr. of the home; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Simmons of Augusta, Georgia; four granddaughters, Anne (Michael) Dames of Harrisburg, North Carolina, Jennifer Simmons of Concord, North Carolina, Sharlean Frazier of the home and Donna Conley of Columbus, Georgia; three great-grandsons, Nathan Lamonte Frazier of the home, Cpt. Rashad (Julie) Dames of Fayetteville, North Carolina, David Conley of Columbus, Georgia and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to the family named above, Alma will be especially missed by her special niece caregivers, Alice Devine and Vanzalee Davis, and caregiver Marvie Brown.
