God in His divine glory called Alfred Lee Addison, Sr. from his labor here on earth to eternal peace in his heavenly home on Monday, March 3, 2025, at his residence, 119 Addison Road in Harleyville S.C. He was born on January 1, 1942 in Harleyville, SC. He was the 11th of 12 children born to the union of his loving parents the late Reverend Mose Addison and Claudia Nimmons Addison. At the time of his homegoing, he had reached the blessed age of 83 years.

As the son of a farmer, Alfred grew up working diligently on the family farm. Due to the high demands of farm life, he was unable to complete his high school education. However, he possessed a natural mechanical ability and a passion for learning. This led him to a career in construction, where he dedicated 48 years to the cement industry. He began working at Santee Portland Cement Company and retired from Holcim Inc. in 2000. He was well known for his ingenuity, engineering skills, heavy equipment operation expertise, and remarkable physical strength. In the community he was well known for his love for family and friends. He loved hosting family gatherings where he would serve his famous BBQ and catfish stew.

On June 22, 1968, Alfred married the love of his life, Alma Scott Addison, and together they shared 56 beautiful years of marriage. Their union was blessed with two wonderful children, Alfred Lee Addison Jr. (Tammey) and Alfreda Addison Pinckney (O'Neill).

He leaves to cherish his legacy of love his devoted wife, Alma Scott Addison; his two beloved children; four grandchildren: Alexandria Addison, Nicolas White, Jonathan Addison, and Kyla Pinckney; and one great-grandchild, Bentli Hooks. He is also survived by two sisters:  Pauline Lewis and Lottie Stevens; one sister-in-law, Beatrice Addison; two brothers-in-law, McArthur Scott (Eartha) and Raymond Scott and a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and five brothers.

His life and legacy will continue in all our hearts forever.
