On Tuesday, June 18, 2013, Alfonzo Harrison peacefully departed this life at River Manor Care Center in Brooklyn, NY. His soul took flight to an unknown world, where there will be no more pain, no more tears, where the skies are always blue, where there is joy without sorrow and peace without pain.

Alfonzo Harrison the third of three children was born on January 16, 1929, to the late Cornelius and Maize Harrison, in St. George, SC.

Alfonzo was educated in the public schools of St. George, SC. At an early age he joined and was baptized at Good Hope Baptist Church in St. George, SC. He worked at the Ice House in St. George for sixteen years. Alfonzo met and married Lourine "Linkey" Buckner on December 18, 1949, from that union five children were born. In November, the year of 1958, he relocated his wife and children to Brooklyn, NY. He went to work for the Glass Company for a short time, and then went on to work for Hannon Products as a Machine Operator in Westbury, NY, until his retirement. Alfonzo was a very quiet person, but he use to like hanging out with his friends from St. George. Those were good times throughout the years for him. After his retirement, he never ventured far away from home. He loved his wife's cooking; he knew that would be some good eating. When Alfonzo and Lourine celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary, all he could do was cry and tell her how much he loved her, and was happy that they had been married for so many years. Alfonzo and Lourine have been married for sixty three years. Alfonzo enjoyed his life to the fullest until he became ill.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn and sons, Alfonzo, Jr., Preston Cornelius and Lewis Earl.

Alfonzo leaves to cherish his memories, his beloved and devoted wife, Lourine "Linkey", his devoted daughter, Blanche Harrison of Brooklyn, NY; his one hundred and two year old father-in-law, Randolph (Juanita) Buckner; two step sisters, Stacey Govan and Eunice (Bishop Wolf), two step brothers, Ricky (Sandra) Govan and Danny Govan all of St. George, SC; one sister-in-law, Flossie Moore of Varnville, SC; eight grandchildren, Monique, Alicia, Latonya, Tawonna, Sharod, Tamika, Krystal and Oneeka; elven, great grandchildren; eleven nieces; two nephews and a host of great nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
