Obituary

Adolph (Darrell) Murray, transitioned from his earthly journey on Thursday, December 15, 2022, 1 AM, Northshore Memorial Hospital, Manhasset, New York.

Adolph was reared by his grandparents, the late Adell and Mattie Mae Murray of Grover, South Carolina, who loved him dearly and protected and cared for him in a very special way. At an early age, Adolph joined Saint Luke United Methodist Church, Grover, South Carolina, where he was an active member of the Young Adult Choir.

Adolph graduated from Saint George High School in 1978, where he was an active member of the band as a saxophonist. Upon graduating from high school, he furthered his education at Nielsen Electronics Institute of Charleston, South Carolina.

In 1980, Adolph relocated from Grover, South Carolina to Brooklyn, New York, and reunited with his parents the late Vernell and Sadie Martino Murray.

In 1990, the Lord blessed Adolph with a lovely daughter, Shemeyrra Murray, who blessed him with Ameyrra Buchanan, the apple of his eye.

His work spans from the financial district to the medical field.  He was gainfully employed by E. F. Hutton, Manhattan, New York; a consulting firm, Indianapolis, and the West Lawrence Nursing Care Center, Far Rockaway, New York.

Adolph leaves to cherish his memories, his devoted Mother, Sadie Martino Murray, Brooklyn, New York; his loving daughter, Shemeyrra Murray (Ambrose), Queens, New York; his precious granddaughter, Ameyrra Buchanan; his special friend, Dorine Davis, Queens, New York; he was the stepfather to Tehayrra Conner, Saint George; Kimora Tompson, Saint George, and Steven Conner, New York; two godchildren, Davon Phillips and Racine Coles, Brooklyn, New York; aunts:  Ebenezer Wade, Saint George, South Carolina; Bertha Salley, Walterboro, South Carolina; Deloris Martino, Saint George, South Carolina; Brenda Martino, Saint George, South Carolina; Mary Martino, Saint George, South Carolina; Janie Martino, Saint, George, South Carolina; Dora Ann Martino, Saint George, South Carolina; one uncle, Philip Bonaparte, Saint George, South Carolina and a host of loving cousins, other relatives, and friends.
