Adell Lewis, Sr. departed this life on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Colleton Regional Hospital. He was born July 30, 1925 in Dorchester County to the late Isaac and Queena Lewis.

He was united in marriage to Ernestine Fulton–Lewis. To this union four children were born, Horace, Gracie, Adell, Jr., and Emarunda. He was a very loved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Adell Lewis, Jr., Charles (CL) Perry, McArthur Lewis, and Elizabeth Perry are the children who preceded him in death.

Rola Mae Green, Albertha Toomer, Elease Frederick, Luticia Fredrick, Leroy Lewis, Earl Lewis, Freddie Lewis, and Roosevelt Lewis are his siblings who preceded him in death.

He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Ernestine Lewis; one son, Horace (Linda) Lewis, St. George, SC; six daughters, Gracie (Craig) Johnson, Reevesville, SC, Emarunda (John) Green, Orangeburg, SC, Rosalind Milligan, Somerville, NJ, Wonder (Joseph) Warren, and Tiny Larkins, both of Reevesville, SC, and Shirley (James) Wallace, Darlington, SC; one brother, Bennie (Joann) Summers, Harleyville, SC; three sisters-in-law, Rosa Mae Lewis, St. George, SC, Brenda Wright and Eunice Fulton of Charleston, SC; one brother-in-law, Andrew (Lanore) Fulton; grandchildren; great grandchildren and a host of nieces , nephews, other relatives ,and friends.
