Abbie Lee Lewis Brownlee, was born January 9, 1922 in Dorchester County, South Carolina. She was blessed to become the daughter of Idella Fields Lewis and Archie Lewis. Several years later she'd become the protective older sister of Amos.
Abbie Lee grew up in the Texas Community and attended Texas Community School.
Having been born into a Christian home, Abbie Lee worshipped at Bethel Baptist Church with her mother and later became a member.
After the death of her mother, Abbie Lee was the lady of the house. These were very lonely times for her, but she soon met the love of her life, Ned Brownlee, Sr.
On January 12, 1950 she married Ned, a union lasting until his death on April 12, 1986. They were blessed with four children.
Abbie Lee was a quiet, unassuming woman who kept her own council. She was devoted to her family and loved her children unconditionally. She adored her grandchildren and they brought her much joy. She enjoyed listening to songs by Shirley Ceaser and hearing the word.
On Thursday, November 24, 2011, her earthly battle was over, the Lord called her to a place of rest: Those who will be most deprived of her presence include her children: Ned Brownlee, Jr., Virginia Brownlee, Joseph Brownlee and Lucious Brownlee (Catherine) all of St. George, SC; grandchildren, Lakesha Creel of Summerville, SC, Najia, Brittany and Canadra Brownlee; her loving brother, Amos Lewis of Mims, FL; uncle, John Wesley Lewis of Seville, FL; devoted cousins, Betty Brunson, Idella Primus, Eldon Williams, Leroy Williams; nieces, nephews and other cousins.
